Troopers seek suspect after 2 shot near Kiana

The village of Kiana in Northwest Alaska remained on lockdown today after troopers said a man shot two hunters and stole their boat at a remote cabin upriver. Troopers had arrived at the cabin and in Kiana and were preparing to search a roughly 40-mile stretch of terrain for the shooter.

Jets diverted as Anchorage windstorm picks up

Seven inbound flights to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport -- two of them passenger jets -- have been diverted because of weather as of about 1:30 p.m. The latest windstorm hitting Southcentral Alaska is expected to peak in Anchorage during the early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
